Congratulations to both our Grade 5 Ladies & Men’s Teams who are through to Semi Finals of the Munster Tennis Phase One Winter League this weekend. Hard Luck to our our Grade 6 Ladies & Men’s and to our Novice Men’s Team who despite valiant efforts all round didn’t make it through.

Ladies Grade 5 beat St. Annes Waterford 3-1 in a epic battle

Men’s Grade 5 beat Nenagh  3-2 1-1 in the first round matches then 2-2 all came down to the Super Doubles  with Frank our super sub and Gavin leading the team to victory

Ladies Grade 6 lost to Nenagh 2-3 with great tennis played over the four matches with  lots of rallies and some excellent winning shots. It was all tied up at the end of the four matches, so it was down to a super set. Both teams gave it their all and it was small margins in the end with Ennis losing out to a very good Nenagh side

Mens Grade 6 lost to Limerick Lawn in another scintillating quarter final, all close games and a three set battle, but it came down to the super set where Limerick Lawn were the stronger team

Men’s Novice lost to  Whitechurch

After the first session, the score was 1 a piece. Having lost the next match, Ennis were hoping for a draw in the final match which ended up going to a third set with Alan & Joe battling for another point. However, they lost the 3rd set 7 5 which gave the visitors a 3 1 win. The novices play Monaleen next Sunday in Ennis in their final group match.
